Should I feed my dog breed-specific food?

How do I transition my dog to a new food?

Take your time transitioning your dog to a new food, as completely changing to a new food may lead to digestive upset and other issues. Gradual transition helps to prevent vomiting, diarrhoea, and loss of appetite.

Start by mixing the new food with the old food over 5-7 days (25%, 50%, 75%, then 100%) For sensitive dogs, take it even slower. You know your dog best, so keep an eye out for cues that could be due to discomfort.
Can senior or adult dogs eat puppy food?

We wouldn’t recommend feeding puppy food to your senior dog. Puppy food is higher in calories and nutrients to promote growth, and fully grown dogs don’t need as high a calorie intake as this will lead to weight gain – possibly creating further issues such as diabetes and arthritis.
